Refusing Medical Treatment

It always makes me sad when I hear a story of a parent who is required by law to get some sort of medical help for his child. I can see both sides.
I see the parent who thinks that chemo is killing her child–or for whatever reason–believes that the human body or that God can make [...]
Mom, You’re to Blame
Posted in Uncategorized on May 17, 2009 | Leave a Comment »
It is always incumbent upon mothers to mold their children and to teach them positive social skills. Fathers don’t have that kind of pressure. If a kid is bad, the mother is the first one blamed. (Sorry, to stereotype dads, but this bias towards mothers is long-standing.) The mother also takes the brunt of a [...]

How frustrating. I wrote a post about a really cool “car-less” town in Vauban, Germany, but my post disappeared. So you’ll have to go on over and check it out–

My first post here…I hope it’s well received. =)
I have many friends, some are Democrat and some are Republican. Recently I’ve been talking to my Republican friends a bit more….I’ve been fascinated by the shift in their party. Republicans have tried to characterize themselves as the “culture warriors”, linking themselves to the archetypes of tradition [...]

Anyone read “The Shack?” I wrote a column about the book, which ran on my local paper’s site. There were a couple of unhappy xtians who commented, but I thought this remark regarding independent thought of believers was very interesting:
“Of course truly arriving at the recognition and adoration of an absolute authority requires the most [...]
An interesting comment

Hi all,
I’d like to post this comment left by a Catholic reader. The question he raises is, “Can you be fair to your child if you don’t expose them to religion?” Since we have readers with so many different belief systems, it would be interesting to hear your thoughts….
Hello from a Catholic. If you want [...]
Cleaning

I once wrote a short story called, Cleaning. I’ll have to post that sometime.
But I digress.
I’m cleaning. Again. This time for an open house tomorrow. My home has been on the market one month. We had two lookers in the first three days and none since. Of course, I have an acquaintance who immediately contacted me the [...]
